Meet Miss Campbell Rose Swann :)

Born and Adopted on April 1st, 2010
6 lbs 1 oz
19 1/2 inches long

Rachael, Audrey, Scarlett & I are sooooo unbelievably excited for Ben & Megan on the new addition to their family. Watching their experience to become parents has been an absolute miracle and we couldn’t be happier to have little Campbell with us all now. It’s a complete joy to watch their happiness as a family. They’ve adapted to becoming parents with ease. I’m proud of you both. Love you little sis & brother from another mother.

As you can tell by looking around…I don’t photograph many babies, except my own ;). My girls actually renewed my love for photography. I wish I knew then what I know now when they were this little…here’s the first session of many of my new niece Campbell.

It’s been quite a while since Audrey & Scarlett have seen the blog…I thought I’d share a little impromptu session that I did with them a little while back. Rachael dropped them off at my studio for a while and of course I couldn’t get ANYTHING done with them there. So…we took some pictures :) They’ve gone through stages of how they act in front of the camera. Most of the time they just ignore me…but that day, they were just hilarious.
then we decided to go inside for a few…
They got a little dance fever :)
annnnd finally…this one ended up being our Christmas card…love it.

gatlinburg + jowling

Rachael & I went to Gatlinburg this past weekend with my sister Megan and brother-in-law Ben for Megan’s birthday. It was a great time and super relaxing. It’s been a LONG time since we’ve gotten to hang out with absolutely nothing that we HAD to do. This is obviously a dangerous situation because I ended up breaking out the camera to experiment with a little JOWLING. If you haven’t heard of this you should google it. It basically consists of making a fool out of yourself by slinging your head back and forth like while relaxing your facial muscles and freezing it on camera. The shots are a little embarrassing but so worth showing :) None of us could breath we were laughing so hard. So have a laugh…at us :)

NEW YEAR…NEW SITE…NEW MOBILE SITE & BLOG FACELIFT

Well it’s been quite some time since I’ve posted on the ol’blog. I can assure you it’s not because I didn’t want to. Last year was a wild and crazy ride…I just had to make a commitment to my current clients and let the blog suffer. I learned a ton and I’ve already applied some of that knowledge to streamline my workflow and business. That being said…I am going to make a bigger commitment to the blog this year. I really want to use it to document my life and work. Thanks to everyone who continue to check back often.

2010 has so much in store and I’m extremely excited about it. To start it off, I’ve launched an entirely new website … I gave the blog a facelift to match :) … I launched a “mobile” site that is mobile device friendly. Just visit www.creativepush.com on your mobile device (i.e. iPhone, CrackBerry, etc…) and you’ll automatically be forwarded to my mobile site. So feel free to share!

And finally…I’ve broken down and created a facebook fan page for creative push. I’ve known about the power of social networking for some time…but I just never bit the bullet. So please…won’t you please…be a FAN :)

So for my first post of the year…Here’s the new cover of Tulle. Each issue is always a fun and hectic ride for me and Rachael (especially hectic for Rachael :). This issue was no exception. On the day of the cover shoot, Audrey (our oldest daughter) fell and need to have stitches in her face right as we were about to start to shoot. Luckily she was ok and after all of the setup, hair, makeup, etc we couldn’t turn back. I got this in a record time. Our first double cover…Please meet our wonderful model… Amber Bowman. We’re sooo pleased. Thanks Amber!

Bath time…a daily ritual with kids and so easy to overlook the fun times and memories…I grabbed the camera a couple of weeks ago and got these shots of Audrey and Scarlett.
This cracks me up every time I see it…little sister trying to get her big sister and it backfires! LOL

Hello party people…Wow…it’s been crazy lately. Rachael and I went to Vegas for WPPI. I learned a ton, met some awesome photographers, & found some great vendors. Since we’ve been back I’ve been working on a catalog project so it’s been painfull not to jump right back into photography with everything I learned in Vegas. I realized that I’ve yet to post anything about our girls on this blog. So I thought I’d show you a few shots that I took about a month ago. Since I’ve been so busy I really haven’t been able to go through them until now.

Scarlett…what a little character she is. Her personality blossoms more everyday. She’s turning 2 next week and it’s sooo bitter-sweet
Audrey…after going through a long period of totally ignoring me when I have a camera…she’s turning into quite the poser :) She’s our 16 year old trapped in a 3 year old body.

This may be one of the last pictures of Scarlett sucking her thumb. A couple of weeks ago Audrey smashed it in a door and she hasn’t put it in her mouth since then. So… good and bad.
I know this one is a little soft…but it was a no looker and I just love the feel and composition.

baye, tango, & megan

My sister Megan has been riding horses since…well since I can remember really. As a child she spent many summer days at Circle K riding, training, and working. She now boards her two horses Baye & Tango there … we went out to visit them on Sunday. (As a side note…I’ve processed all of the “black & white” shots with a new formula that I’ve been playing with…what do you think?)

Meet Tango – The girls say he’s a good kisser.
This is Baye – I think she’s almost 2. She’s gorgeous.
She stuck her tongue out at me!
(Photographer side note: Although it doesn’t look like it, this barn was pretty dark. I shot these two at ISO 3200 with my 5D Mark II. Very low noise in my opinion. It’s great in low light.)

Wow! It has taken some time but I’ve finally finished my blog. I’m kinda like the plumber with leaky pipes…never can get around to working on my own projects.
